On October 5-8, 2020, LLF hosted our 2020 Girls Who Code – ‘Big’ virtual program introducing high school students to the world of high-performance computing. The four-day workshop brought together girls from several Bay Area schools to learn first-hand about supercomputer hardware, parallel computing, and scientific application and visualization. Live demos and breakout groups led by Lab mentors brought concepts to life using LLNL open source software. The program culminated with a career panel of former and current LLNL women who shared stories to help inspire and guide the next generation of women.
