Sally Allen
Executive Director
Sally Allen was appointed Executive Director of the Livermore Lab Foundation in July 2019. She brings over 25 years of professional experience in the public, philanthropic, and nonprofit sectors. Prior to her LLF role, Sally served as a project manager for the City & County of San Francisco Controller’s Office, where she developed and managed numerous projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of government through data analysis, performance management, and technical assistance. Previously, she spent five years as a program officer with the James Irvine Foundation, monitoring a $20-million grants portfolio and helping oversee a statewide, community-based after-school initiative designed to improve K-12 academic achievement. Sally holds a master’s degree in Education Policy Analysis and a bachelor’s degree in Public Policy from Stanford University. She lives in Danville with her husband and son.
Terry Damm
Financial Controller
Terry Damm is a financial analyst in Institutional Advancement in the UC Office of the President. Among the many roles he has in the department, he is the Financial Analyst-Accountant-Controller for the LLF and performs similar functions for the Berkeley Lab Foundation, UC Foundation (Hong Kong) and the UC Trust (United Kingdom).
Prior to joining the UC, Terry had been the controller of two small businesses in Seattle followed by several years working in accounting and finance. Terry has a BA in accounting from the University of Washington and is a licensed CPA in California and Washington State.
Terry moved to the Bay Area from Seattle in 2012. He enjoys living in California, exploring the Bay Area, hiking, cooking and spending time with friends.
Jesse Dupuis
Adminstrative Assistant
Jesse Dupuis is a 2022 graduate from Sonoma State University. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with distinction. She has her BA in Political Science and is currently pursuing a Masters of Public Administration from CSU East Bay. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for a general contractor the past year and began with the Livermore Lab Foundation in July of 2023. She is very excited to transition into the nonprofit sector and to foster new relationships.
She is originally from Spokane, Washington and moved to the Bay Area in 2022. During her free time she enjoys golfing, hanging out with friends and reading.
Susan Houghton
Climate Portfolio Manager
Susan Houghton leads the Foundation’s work in Climate Resiliency and Carbon Management, working closely with colleagues at Lawrence Livermore National Lab, community and academic partners. She joined the LLF team in 2019. A former television journalist, she served in senior public affairs and communications positions at Lawrence Livermore National Lab, UC Berkeley, Pacific Gas & Electric Company, among others. With more than 30 years of experience at the intersection of communications, public affairs and philanthropy, she also founded three vibrant nonprofit 501c3 organizations dedicated to residential and programmatic support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and currently serves on the board of directors for Three Valleys Community Foundation. She has a BS degree in Journalism from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, an MS degree in Nonprofit Management from Louisiana State University and is both a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and CANDID Expert Trainer.
Emily Pezzutti
COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING Manager
Emily Pezzutti oversees the Foundation’s communications and marketing efforts and joined the team in April 2021. She has worked within the nonprofit sector since 2015, where she began to explore her passion for macro social work, implementing large-scale change, and fostering strong community relationships. Her experience encompasses various areas including, donor relations, fundraising, marketing, communications, grant writing, outreach, program design, and advocacy. Emily’s enthusiasm and dedication shine through her work as she strives to be a catalyst for lasting impact.
Emily holds both a master’s and bachelor’s degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University, where she graduated with Honors Research Distinction. During her leisure time, she finds joy in creating new recipes, cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes alongside her husband, and taking long walks with her beloved dog, Archie.
